by KFKA News May 29, 2023 May 29, 2023 Forget are you smarter than a fifth grader, at least two students from the Front Range can probably spell better than you. Aditi Muthukumar, 12, who's in seventh grade at Hulstrom Options K-8 in Northglenn and 10-year-old Sofia Tommey Wu who's in fifth grade at Douglass Elementary in Boulder, will represent Colorado in the Scripps National Spelling Bee. Preliminary competitions start Tuesday with finals set for Thursday. A Coloradan hasn't won the national spelling bee in more than two decades.
